We designed the bottles to be tasted back to back in a blind tasting for the ultimate Rubicon fan, or shared between friends and family to see what each person tastes.

Our famed Rubicon Rye Whiskey is unique due to our 100% rye mash bill, the climate of our warehouse, and the double barrel aging process.
After distillation, Rubicon is aged in a standard whiskey barrel for 2+ years, then goes into a secondary barrel from Radoux, a smaller hand-crafted cooperage, for an additional 6 months up to 6 years.
From the beginning, we’ve purposely made each batch of Rubicon different.
Our weather from year to year can vary, the sugar content or char of the barrel can vary, and ultimately we only had 1 barrel to release. As our company has grown and aged, so has our inventory. In 2017, we worked with Radoux to produce some experimental barrels. They chose wood from the same trees, sat side by side through production, but as they were being toasted & charred, when it came time to kill the flame, the difference begun. One barrel was extinguished with water, Barrel #1718, while the other had stainless steel end caps put over the top to smother the flame, Barrel #1717. The heat & smoke lingered in #1717 which hadn’t been seen in our production. We aged these Rubicon in these experimental barrels for 18-24 months to develop a rich profile.
